Description

SPS Commerce is looking for a Senior Revenue Financial Analyst to assist building annual revenue budgets and rolling forecasts while providing decision support through financial analyses to optimize revenue. Your key deliverables and contributions may include robust forecasting/analytic models, performance metric analyses, driving scalable reporting infrastructure, and packaging results into presentation-ready content for SPS Commerce Executive team members.

Day-to-Day

  • Build and maintain financial models that appropriately estimate and project revenue and utilize the models to provide insights into anticipated trends.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting (e.g., analyze financial results; identify and understand key trends to assess current and future business risk; communicate results, key messages, and variances upward and to appropriate audiences).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand current revenue streams, as well as any proposed new company offerings and implement models that properly recognize revenue according to accounting principles and company policy.
  • Key business partner for future acquisition integrations, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Support projects/initiatives related to revenue modeling (e.g. pricing analysis).
  • Streamline processes; develop and maintain reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue.
  • Participate in the month- and quarter-end close processes that relate to billing/revenue.
  • Review billing practices to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition.
  • Responsible for applying, enforcing, and executing the Company’s revenue recognition policy as it relates to the performance of revenue accounting.
  • Apply professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying accounting principles that support revenue recognition.
  • Demonstrate ethical responsibility, personal accountability, and responsibility for the integrity and reliability of data, modeling, and reporting.
  • Lead and/or provide expertise to ad hoc projects and analysis, as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience; a Master's degree and 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building financial and decision support models.
  • Clear, concise, and confident communicator (verbal, non-verbal, written, presentations).
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects while still communicating key issues and status updates, whether working with a team or independently.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with advanced business acumen.
  • Demonstrative behaviors around integrity, curiosity, engagement, self-driven initiative, collaboration, relationship building, customer engagement/support, and leadership expectations.
  • Ability to proactively communicate key issues and status updates.
  • Proven competence with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and a CRM, preferably Salesforce.com, reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and ERP (MS Business Central).
