Position Summary:  

The Payroll Assistant is part of a Global Payroll team and is primarily responsible for assisting with payroll and related accounting processes. The Payroll Assistant is responsible for all activities necessary to process accurate, timely and compliant payroll in multiple states and countries.  This role will work closely with both Human Resources and Accounting teams, responding to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll and HR policies and procedures. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for North American (Canada) employees by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the HRIS system
  • Provide backup to US and global payroll processing teams
  • Timely and accurately input employee new hires and termination information into HRIS system
  • Identify payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Professionally answer employee questions and requests
  • Calculate and process commonly recurring payroll items such as deductions, adjustments, one- time payments, rate increases, leave of absence, and garnishments
  • Assist with common quarterly and annual payroll tasks including tax and financial reporting, benefits, and system setup

 

Location:  

This role is either remote, or hybrid out of our Minneapolis office, based on the candidate’s location.  For hybrid office locations, we Succeed Together though in-person collaboration, balanced with remote work to provide flexibility.  

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • 3 or more years of related experience such as administrative work or payroll support
  • Exceptional numerical and data entry skills demonstrating speed and great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers both verbally and in writing
  • Basic knowledge of payroll rules and policies, as well as general accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using ADP Payroll software

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience working with Canada payroll
  • Workday or other HRIS system experience

The hourly pay range for this role is: $21.83 - $32.79. The actual pay offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
