Position Summary:
The AI Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions to support business objectives. This position specializes in collaborating with capability teams to deliver innovative AI solutions, either through embedded partnerships or by providing technical guidance. The ideal candidate will blend advanced software engineering expertise with knowledge of AI and machine learning technologies to drive impactful results across SPS Commerce's product and solution landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with capability teams to understand business needs and collaboratively deliver AI-driven solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to capability teams by embedding AI expertise into their workflows or offering mentorship to strengthen their technical capabilities.
- Design and implement scalable AI systems, with a focus on delivering maintainable and high-performing software solutions.
- Own the development lifecycle for assigned features and projects, including research, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Estimate new work with precision and commitment and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Stay on the cutting edge of AI technologies and methodologies, continuously researching and incorporating the latest advancements into engineering practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert in AI technologies, helping team members and broader SPS Commerce engineering teams understand and adopt AI best practices.
- Advocate for and contribute to AI initiatives within SPS Commerce, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient capabilities in one or more of the following Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Golang, Python, Kubernetes, Cloud technologies.
- Expertise in natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization for deploying AI systems.
- Experience developing AI-powered user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Awareness of ethical considerations in AI systems, including bias mitigation and responsible AI practices.
What We Offer:
At SPS Commerce, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, and skills in their role. The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.
The annual salary range for this role is: $100,200 - $150,400. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
