Position Summary:
The Director, Enterprise Systems Portfolio Management, is a key leadership role responsible for driving the execution of strategic initiatives for Enterprise Systems and providing visibility to Enterprise Systems value delivery to key stakeholders. The role is instrumental in the adoption, implementation, enhancement, maintenance and retirement of enterprise-wide technology solutions that meet business needs. Key characteristics of success include a spirit of collaborative partnership to identify the human elements of change required: work as a change agent to communicate what is changing, how change supports a better future, build knowledge of how and desire to change, and enable and reinforce adoption of the change with senior leaders, managers, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Establish and oversee the Enterprise Systems PMO function and Portfolio Management functions, providing oversight, governance, and support for all Enterprise Systems projects and programs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and stakeholder-centricity.
- Application of best practices for portfolio and program execution and management.
- Thought Leader and Change Agent in the establishment of enterprise-wide strategy for unified portfolio, program and project management within Enterprise Systems.
- Provides advice and counsel to Enterprise Systems line managers regarding the direction of portfolio, program, and project management.
Portfolio Oversight & Governance
- Own Strategic Alignment, partnering closely with the Enterprise Systems leaders and business stakeholders to align the portfolio with strategic objectives.
- Define and oversee the roadmap for Enterprise Systems, partnering with leaders to prioritize initiatives and manage resources effectively.
- Incorporate enterprise Portfolio Management tools and practices to ensure delivery remain focused on the efforts that bring substantial value to the organization.
- Oversee resource management and budgeting for programs within Enterprise Systems, ensuring efficient allocation and use of resources.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identifying risks and issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with the technology standards and processes.
- Provide regular status updates on the health of the Enterprise Systems portfolio.
Project & Program Management
- Develop and implement standardized project and program management processes, templates, and tools to ensure consistent delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a community of project professionals, managing and growing a team of people that drive high performance in alignment with company goals, and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Incorporate Program Management techniques, tools, and practices to ensure successful delivery of project value.
- Monitor program and project performance, identifying risks and issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
Communications
- Champion the value of the portfolio, providing visibility to activities, resource allocations and SLAs in all stages (plan, build, run) of the technology lifecycle.
- Lead the communication strategy the Enterprise Systems portfolio, ensuring transparent and consistent updates on initiative progress, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Establish and participate in Communications Program including road shows and educational sessions to the various stakeholders and user communities.

Location:
- This role is hybrid in our Minneapolis, MN office with the expectation of being in the office 3 days per week.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration).
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in technology Program leadership and/or technology Portfolio Management.
- Practical experience in technology Portfolio reporting.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex programs, with a track record of successfully driving strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven experience managing multi-time zone teams, with an understanding of the challenges and strategies for successful global collaboration.
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple program methodologies, including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and its application in an enterprise environment.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Experience with major enterprise-level transformation initiatives and organizational change management.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting complex data to drive business decisions.
- Experience leading and managing distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Experience with portfolio planning, budgeting, and resource management practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional training and certification in Project, Program, and Change Management certifications highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience with project tracking and resource management software like Jira, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with Release Management.
- This position may require travel to other SPS Commerce locations.
- Experience with merger and/or acquisition integration and/or divestitures.
What We Offer:
At SPS Commerce, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, and skills in their role. The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.
The annual salary range for this role is: $130,000 to $218,000 + Bonus and Equity. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
Additionally, you may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. An incentive award, if granted, is based on individual and/or organizational performance.
