Position Summary:  

The Sr. Product Manager, Retail Analytics develops the product strategy and roadmap that integrates market, customer, and SPS business needs for a large-scale SaaS retail analytics solution. Success is measured by product revenue growth, profitability, customer retention, and by driving organizational alignment on the strategy, roadmap, and intended business impact.

 

This solution ingests large-scale retail data via ETL pipelines from hundreds of retailers daily and provides advanced reporting and analytics through both legacy and modern technology stacks. The product roadmap includes full customer migration to the modern stack, expansion into AI-powered capabilities, support for supply chain, category management, and merchandising use cases, and modular capabilities for advanced workflows in the retailer + supplier ecosystem.

 

This role requires strong product leadership across technical, commercial, and market dimensions—including product positioning, messaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategy. Deep domain expertise in retail and/or CPG industries and the ability to translate complex technical platforms into high-value customer solutions are critical.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Define and drive a multi-year product strategy and 2-year roadmap to deliver on growth, profitability, and customer retention goals.
  • Develop and refine market expertise, including deep knowledge of retail supply chain, category management, merchandising, digital media, and emerging retail analytics trends.
  • Lead the product migration strategy from legacy to modern technology stacks, ensuring minimal customer disruption and clear value communication.
  • Identify and prioritize new product opportunities in AI-driven analytics, collaborative data apps, and modular solution capabilities.
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, pricing, and packaging strategies in close collaboration with product marketing, enabling strong go-to-market execution and sales success.
  • Partner with product marketing to drive effective product launches, including sales enablement, marketing programs, and customer communications.
  • Translate strategy into actionable product requirements and work closely with UX and engineering to deliver successful solutions.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for retail analytics SaaS solutions, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—sales, customer success, marketing, and engineering—to ensure customer adoption and retention.
  • Provide thought leadership to drive long-term product vision and inform enterprise-level product strategy.
  • Mentor and coach product team members, providing informal leadership within the product organization.

Location:  

This role is either hybrid out of our Minneapolis office or Remote, based on the candidate's geographical location.  For hybrid office locations, we Succeed Together though in-person collaboration, balanced with remote work to provide flexibility.  This role will also have a travel component of 10% - 15%.

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of SaaS product management experience, including ownership of data-driven or analytics products.
  • Demonstrated success in defining product strategies and roadmaps for complex B2B SaaS products.
  • Strong experience developing product positioning, messaging, pricing, and packaging for SaaS solutions, with proven results in market success.
  • Deep domain expertise in retail or CPG industries, with knowledge of supply chain, category management, digital media, and/or merchandising.
  • Technical fluency with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), BI tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, Sigma), modern APIs, and data ingestion/ETL processes.
  • Practical experience with AI/ML technologies (generative, RAG, agentic, MCP, etc.) and translating advanced analytics into customer-facing features.
  • Proven track record of leading platform migrations, re-architecture efforts, or similar large-scale technology transitions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with ability to influence executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of judgment and initiative.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Sigma Computing, and modern cloud data ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with collaborative analytics/data apps in retail and supply chain use cases.
  • Experience with agentic AI or generative AI product features.
  • Modular SaaS product design and monetization models.

At SPS Commerce, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, and skills in their role. The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.  

The annual salary range for this role is: $113,700 - $181,900. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.   

 

Additionally, you may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
