Position Summary: 

We are hiring a Technical Product Owner to support our growing data analytics and platform teams.  You will be responsible for the strategic development, delivery, and success of data products within and for enterprise business functions. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, data teams, and end-users, this role ensures that data products are aligned with business goals, technically sound, and user-friendly.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Define the vision and roadmap for data products.
  • Align data product strategy with business objectives and market trends.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure product success.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and user stories.
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and approve deliverables.
  • Oversee full product lifecycle from ideation to deployment and adoption.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, analysts, and business users to maintain roadmaps and ensure visibility of priorities.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies: stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Gather and synthesize stakeholder feedback to refine product features and improve user experience.
  • Communicate product progress, challenges, and updates effectively.
  • Ensure data products adhere to governance policies, privacy regulations, and security standards.
  • Contribute to organizational data governance initiatives.
  • Understand modern data stacks, data platforms, and tools (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, APIs).
  • Support testing and validation of data products to ensure quality and usability.

Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid — onsite 2 days/week)

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of related technology experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years solutioning complex business solutions architecture with a focus on Cloud Native platforms
  • Experience in data analytics, data engineering, or product management in a data-centric or enterprise technology environment..
  • Familiarity with data technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R), data modeling, and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to understand business strategy and translate it into data-driven solutions.
  • Strong ability to convey complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering value through data.
  • Capable of driving cross-functional collaboration and managing stakeholder relationships.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with enterprise platforms (Salesforce, Workday, Oracle, Microsoft).
  • Hands-on experience with modern data and analytics ecosystems (Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and familiarity with agentic and generative AI technologies.
  • Prior work in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Experience presenting to leadership teams.
  • Experience and delivery of SaaS solutions
  • Experience with Retail technology solutions
  • Experience in Supply Chain technology solutions

What We Offer:  

At SPS Commerce, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, and skills in their role. The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more. 

 

The annual salary range for this role is: $100,200 - $140,000 + Equity. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.  

 

Additionally, you may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. An incentive award, if granted, is based on individual and/or organizational performance.
