SPS Commerce is looking for a customer focused marketing leader to help grow revenue as our VP of Product Marketing. Careers don’t just grow here, they’re made here.    Day to Day The role is responsible for creating and implementing business strategies and leading interdisciplinary teams charged with growing multiple product segments or markets.Incumbentwill accomplish this through creative, strategic and tactical thinking with an analytical approach to improve key metrics across the assigned market or product portfolio utilizing both upstream and downstream marketing initiatives.The VP, Product Marketing will lead overall product positioning,messaging strategy and product launch activities. Through a thorough understanding of customer segments and markets, the VP of Product Marketing will also identify opportunities to create new products and solutions through existing business capabilities through insightful packaging and positioning.   Specific responsibilities include:   - Provide leadership, vision and execution of all product marketing and launch functions, owning product marketing and launch strategy and execution  - Market strategy: Develop a deep understanding of SPS’s target market by gathering insight about customer personas, buyer needs and the purchase decision process. Define goals, audiences, buyer’s journey, strategy, solutions, positioning, messaging, key tactics, budget and dependencies, and then drive cross-functional consensus to deliver business results. Assess and maintain market opportunities and segmentation to develop strategies for addressing new and existing targets (including new market segments and expansion into new geographies)   - Market and competitive intelligence: Gather and analyze market and competitive information to create a point of view to support product portfolio, new product launches and to better position the business for profitable growth   - Solution messaging and positioning: Lead messaging and positioning strategy; become intimately familiar with SPS’s core customers’ needs and purchasing patterns to develop optimum messaging to minimize sales cycle time and maximize customer value.   - Business intelligence: Leverage market and customer interaction data including marketing platform touches, sales metrics and network usage statistics to understand market and customer buying patterns and preferences.   - Sales enablement: Lead content development for sales team on messaging around new features, solutions and releases. Work with Sales and Customer Success operations to support  training development and content in consumable, actionable formats.   - Content development: Lead the Product Marketing team to build, maintain and update product marketing assets.   - Support Demand Generation and Customer Marketing in the strategic development of integrated marketing plans and deploys tactics to drive consumer awareness and consideration of SPS solutions  - Direct strategic planning, growth and development efforts, providing innovative thought leadership and support for key initiatives  - Lead Product Marketing to assess product mix, evaluate market share, conduct competitive analysis, and identify enabling products and technologies   - Support  the establishment of strategic marketing plans for each market segment   - Drive competitive positioning  - Establish and measure key metrics that focus efforts and drive results  - Work cross-functionally and use quantitative insights to drive better decision-making across the organization to maximize investment return on product  - Lead, manage and develop a team of Product Marketing and Launch Managers and Directors    Required Skills - 15-20 years of experience with at least 10 years direct management responsibility.  - Proven analytical skill set and problem solver – you’re a strategic thinker who thrives on digging into numbers/data and applying Product Marketing best practices to optimize go-to-market plans and strategies   - Strong aptitude for learning and understanding technology products – you’re a quick learner who enjoys a challenge, can see the big picture, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with ambiguity and change   - Passion for everything product and marketing - you get excited about launching and managing products/solutions that have a positive impact on the business alongside contributing cross functionally from market concept to execution   - Highly motivated self-starter with a strong level of personal organization and time management skills   - Natural storytelling, including writing and ability to create compelling messaging that speaks to customer pain points   - Excellent oral/written communication skills including demonstrated ability to deliver technical presentations and training   - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, both as part of a team and individually   - Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business or marketing), Post Graduate Degree (MBA) an asset      SPS Commerce offers a comprehensive package of benefits including health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, paid time-off, 401(k), health and flexible spending accounts, stock purchase plan and more.    EOE including disability/ veteran

SPS Commerce is adding a Marketing Data Analyst to our Marketing Operations team!   As a Marketing Data Analyst (MDA) you will perform data gathering, research, and analysis to support our marketing and product management efforts and maintain the data gathered in files that are available to the team.  This effort will include access of market information from the public domain, SPS systems including Salesforce, and third-party analyst reports.  Research will include markets, competitors, and potential partners. This is vitally important for us to deliver on the full-service promise to our customers.  This role is responsible for category management, content classification, and creating & enforcing taxonomy best practices including responsibility of data governance. The Taxonomy Analyst will perform market research on products and retail trends to identify key attributes used for discoverability, regional and global regulatory requirements and prioritize and expand the SPS Assortment tool to support these. This role is critical to supporting the Assortment product experience.   - Responsible for the design and implementation of data governance standards, processes, and tools necessary for the certification and management of item taxonomies - Advise customers and internal teams on best practices and industry trends as the project teams work through new Assortment projects - Create necessary customer-facing documentation including Attribute Guides and supplier files - Create necessary documentation for categorization and attributes to be used across the various internal teams - Identify and request new product classifications for additional product categories, according to customer and market need - Identify and request the associated attributes/values and develop definitions for usage for existing and new product classifications/categories - Track, validate and analyze taxonomy change requests from internal and external stakeholders through the pipeline and communicate statuses to key stakeholders - Identify “suggested” business validations for different categories or item attributes - Perform market research and aggregate information across sources to ensure the taxonomy standards are recognized across the retail landscape and aligned to the product strategy - Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, development, engineering, product management, operations, and customer success teams to ensure the right attributes are identified without duplication - Ability to think critically, make recommendations based on research, independently research and work, data driven   Minimum Requirements   - Associate degree with a minimum 5 years of related experience (retail, eCommerce, item management, etc.)       OR - Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2 years of related experience (retail, eCommerce, item management, etc.) - Previous experience cataloging and classifying materials - Previous experience working with product attribute schemas and existing web taxonomy is highly preferred - Strong communication, quantitative and analytical skills - Preferred knowledge of different ERP/PIM systems leveraged in the retail ecosystem     **EOE including disability/veteran**
